In the past few weeks, I watched some good movies, on DVDs and also on the theatres. One of them was The Hangover, this funny, crazy, hilarious movie about four guys who went to Vegas to have a bachelor party they won't forget. Who knows, the next day, they actually didn't REMEMBER any single thing about what happened the other night. It became scarier when they found a tiger and a baby in their 4200 dollars a night hotel room, one of them had a missing tooth, and the groom-to-be was nowhere to be seen.
I'm not a big fan of comedy movies, but this one, this one is different. I laughed out loud most of the time, although there were some scenes that totally silly. The casts are perfect, the dialogues are smart, and the ending is great. Kuddos for the filmmakers...And who knows, Golden Globe was agree with me, because Hangover won the best motion picture for comedy/musical category. Kewl!!
Another unexpected good movie is Sherlock Holmes. Well, to tell you the truth, the movie was so-so, but the perfect Robert Downey Jr as Sherlock Holmes and his sidekick Jude Law as Dr Watson were totally amazing! Again, Golden Globe was agree with me and gave an award to Downey. Horay!
(500) Days of Summer, along with Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist, became two of my favorite romantic movies in 2009. Simple, with effective castings and great settings. Ow, and don't forget the good music along the movies.
For a bigger budget movie, Avatar is everyone's favorite. The technology and visual effects are wonderful, and even the storyline is not too bad for a popcorn movie. James Cameron is a real dreamer, and he got Golden Globes for that.
This year, Golden Globe seemed a bit kind with people's taste. I wonder who's going to be nominated for the Oscar. I doubt Hangover will be in any category there, haha!
